Parish Priest

On behalf of the parish community of Our Lady of the Southern Cross, it is my great pleasure to extend to all of you a warm welcome.


Our parish family is a beautiful blending of people connected to St John the Baptist Church, Clifton Hill, and St Joesph Church, Collingwood. Although we are from different cultural backgrounds, within the walls of our churches, we come together as one body, united by our shared faith in Jesus Christ. In both our churches you will encounter people who make you feel welcome and help you find peace, solace and renewal for your soul.


As your parish priest, I am here to serve and accompany you in your walk of faith. Please do not hesitate to reach out if you have any questions, concerns or simply wish to connect. Together, let us strive to deepen our relationship with God and with one another.

While volunteering at the Mary MacKillop Heritage Centre, I found tremendous peace which inspired me to investigate the Catholic faith and that led me to doing RCIA with Fr Cassius. This has been like learning a new language. The Catholic Theology I learned was both challenging and enlightening but needed to be translated into everyday life as I have already experienced – my life has changed for the better because of my newfound faith in God, Jesus, Mary and a sense of belonging to a Catholic Parish Community like St Joseph’s.”
