RCIA - Rite of Christian
Initiation of Adults Congratulations to RCIA ladies Melissa 'Dorothy' Louise Hia and Rachana 'Teresa' San who will receive the Sacraments of Initiation [Baptism, Confirmation & Eucharist] during the Vietnamese Mass at St Joseph's on Sunday 20 February 2011.
Clinton Cox was Initiated into the Catholic Church in a beautiful ceremony during the 5pm Ascension Mass in St John's, 16 May 2010, his fiance Daniella Saliba being his sponsor. They then married here on May 29.
RCIA 2010/11 began on May 28 and will run for approxiamtely 23 weeks to Initiation during the first week of February 2011, followed by a period (3 sessions) of post-baptismal catechesis, and of course, life-long formation. Currently we have two catechumens. Initial topics include: Meaning of Life, Creation & Fall, Salvation History, Catholicism, The Incarnation, World Religions & Images of God, The Life of Christ, Who is Jesus / Jesus Human & Divine, The Paschal Mystery, Being a Catholic Today, The Trinity, A Community on a Pilgrimage, ...
